All of the snow is gone and the lake is open. This winter was a unusually warm one, only a few days too cold to work outside. I (Ed) had lasik eye correction done last week and it is great, I can not wait to see you all this summer.

Here at Poplar Point the ice is about 3 feet thick and everything is covered in snow.

Hunting was good this year I(Ed) got a calf moose on 1 of the 3 times I went out. Deer were scarce this year aroud here (didn’t even see one) Summer is on its way soon and we are getting exited to see you all again.

We regret to inform you that we will no longer be able to sell fishing licences at camp. The Ministry of Natural Resources has gone to a computer system and we just do not have the resources here at camp to run it. We apologize for the inconvenience that this is going to cause you.

Licences can be purchased at almost any gas station along the way once you cross the border or online at http://www1.on.wildlifelicence/index_hf.php

In order to be reimbursed for the conservation licence which we have always paid for to any guest staying in a cabin for one full week, you will need to show us your licence so that we can verify it.

Again we apologize for the inconvenience but it is out of our hands.

End of A Season, Beginning of Life

This fishing season was great. Ed and Lisa brought a new baby boy into camp on Labour day (September 5). He arrived 2 months before his due date, however, everything worked out for the best. His name is Jared Wright. See you all next season!
